5PM - Nate Jenkins – 2007 RRCA Roads Scholar

New York Roadrunners’ Duncan Larkin said: “Nearly every running picture of 27- year-old Massachusetts native Nate Jenkins paints the same picture: a pained yet indomitable competitor either in the lead or desperately struggling to take it. These pictures hearken back to other pictures (grainier ones) of legends from Massachusetts’ storied running past--icons such as Johnny Kelley, Bill Rodgers, and Bob Hodge. ….Jenkins will follow in the footsteps of these famous runners when he competes in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Men’s Marathon in New York City.” Nate finished 7th in the trials, and continues to burn up the pavement. A graduate of UMass Lowell, Nate lives in Andover.

5:30PM - Dick and Rick Hoyt – Father/Son Marathon and Ironman Triathlon Team

Dick Hoyt was asked "What inspires you?". Here is his reply: "It's actually my son. He can't talk, he can't use his legs, but he loves life. He graduated from Westfield High and Boston University. He lives by himself in his own apartment. To me, he's the athlete, and I'm just loaning him my arms and legs so he can compete." Inspiration. When we think about what Dick and Rick have accomplished, and continue to accomplish, it simply seems humanly impossible. Their story is astonishing. We are deeply honored to have them as our special guests at our Feaster Five Road Race. If you take a few moments to watch the video again, it will change the way you look at life today. http://www.teamhoyt.com/
